  Treatment Programs and Services

Psychiatric Residential Treatment Program provides treatment for adolescent males displaying sexually abusive behaviors. Programming currently encompasses elements of Cognitive Behavioral and Rational Behavioral training interventions geared toward changing thinking patterns, emotions, and behavioral responses to interrupt abusive patterns. This is a long-term intensive residential treatment program within a secure facility. The program is open to males between the ages of 9 and 18 with an IQ greater than 69 and an Axis I DSM IV Diagnosis. Program unit and room assignments are done according to the age and individual needs of the resident.

Cognitively Delayed Program is a unique part of our residential treatment program that has been adapted to meet the developmental needs of males with cognitive delays. It affords youth with impaired cognitive functioning an opportunity to receive treatment for their sexually abusive behaviors in an environment conducive to individual learning styles. This specialty program was designed for males between the ages of 9 and 18 with an IQ within the range of 50-69 and an Axis I DSM IV Diagnosis. These youth are served apart from other residents and are assigned rooms with consideration to age and individual treatment needs.

Specialized Treatment Foster Care Program serves the needs of younger, sexually reactive youth. This outpatient program provides a highly intensive treatment experience within the context of a foster home living arrangement. All treatment modalities of the psychiatric residential treatment program are available to the Specialized Treatment Foster Care children, in addition to regular case management services. Youth in this program also attend a separate day-treatment school. Children accepted for this program are males ages 6 through 14 with an IQ greater than 60 and an Axis I DSM IV Diagnosis. The foster care homes for this specialized population are single occupancy placements.
